Master of
Education

 

The Master in Public Affairs (MPAf) program is a one year graduate program designed for practitioners and academics in government and non-government institutions, as well as scholars dedicated to the analysis of public issues, particularly as they relate to the improvement of public welfare. Graduate students need to take 31 units in order to graduate from the chosen specialization. MPAf will produce graduates who are competent towards applying theories and tools necessary in managing socio-political, economic, and cultural affairs.

The Professional Education Division envisions itself to be the Central Visayas Center for Teacher Training in Basic Education focusing on the promotion of excellence, leadership, service, critical thinking, gender-fair and sustainable education.

Political Science

At the end of the program, the Masters of Education graduate must be able to:

 

    1. Education: Evaluate local and global issues and trends that influence the field of education;
    2. Content: Exhibit extensive knowledge in core content engendering learners’ capacity to analyze and respond to new learning;
    3. Pedagogy: Design relevant, responsive, and meaningful instructional plans;
    4. Research: Conduct research to improve educational policies and practices,
    5. Social Consciousness: Show strong commitment in improving instruction and building a just and humane society.
