The UP High School Cebu Fighting Maroons Chess Team clinched the gold medal in the High School Boys Division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) 2026.
The gold medal-winning team is composed of Daniel John Vincent Aguanta, Ethan Richtoff Carbonilla, Charles Marc-Andrei Dy, Reiven Joseph Mernado, Lex Padayao, and Franz Hendrick Vasquez, under the coaching of Mr. Mark Mangubat and the advisership of Prof. Roberto Basadre.
